HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team is gearing up for an exciting weekend as they prepare to host "Beeman's Big Bash" on February 17 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. As part of this special occasion, the team will don exclusive "Hawaiian Night" jerseys, which will be auctioned off to support the Hawai'i Athletics Scholarship Fund.
The virtual auction, accessible through UHEvent.com, will commence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, and run through 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 17. Fans can participate in this unique opportunity to own a piece of Rainbow Wahine history while contributing toward a worthy cause. Registration for the auction is free, and all proceeds will directly benefit the scholarship fund, providing vital support to student-athletes across various sports programs.
Craig Angelos, UH Athletics Director, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, "I've asked our administrative teams to try new things, and this auction is a testament to that initiative. It doesn't matter if you live in Montana, Italy, or Manoa — you can participate and support this event."
"Beeman's Big Bash" promises to be a memorable night for fans and players alike, with the Rainbow Wahine aiming to achieve their largest attendance figure in recent history. Director of Marketing and Fan Experience Eric Mathews shared his excitement, saying, "Beeman's Big Bash is going to be one of those nights where you say, 'I was there,' or 'I wish I went.' We want to make history with a big crowd for a team that has won back-to-back championships."
UH Women's Basketball has set its sights on breaking the program's nearly 25-year-old single-game attendance record of 6,192, which was set on February 14, 1998, against SMU.
In addition to the auction, attendees can look forward to live entertainment, special guests, and an autograph session following the game against UC Santa Barbara. The program is set to deliver an unforgettable experience for all involved.
Tickets for "Beeman's Big Bash" are on sale now for $7 for adults and $5 for senior citizens. All keiki (ages 4 through HS) are free. Click here to purchase tickets online.
