MISSION VIEJO, Calif. — The University of Hawai'i diving teams dominated Tuesday's competition in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Diving Championship with the Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wahine claiming two more event titles at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex in Mission Viejo, Calif.

Isabelle Lombardi won the women's 1-meter title and the Rainbow Wahine swept the top three spots in the event standings. UH senior
Juan Gonzalez captured the men's 3-meter championship followed by teammate
Mackaby Pennington, giving UH four event titles entering the meet's final day.
Lombardi retained her title in the women's 1 meter with a score of 293.55 in the finals. The senior was second after the preliminary round with a score of 251.75 and jumped to the top of the standings to win the event for the second straight season. Senior
Elma Lund placed second a day after winning the women's 3 meter on Monday, posting a score of 274.10 in the finals. Junior
Isabella Plantz gave UH a sweep of the podium in placing third with a score of 270.85.
Gonzalez placed second in the men's 1 meter behind Pennington on Monday and the senior duo switched places on Tuesday in the 3 meter competition. Gonzalez led after the preliminary round with a score of 391.15 then posted the highest score of his career and third-highest in program history in the finals with a total of 413.90. Pennington, the defending MPSF champion in the event, placed second with a score of 338.10 in the finals.
The MPSF Diving Championships conclude Wednesday with the men's and women's platform competition. The swimming championships are set for Feb. 21-24 in St. George, Utah.
