2025-26 Women's Swimming & Diving Season In Review

2026 Women's Swim and Dive Big West Champions

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Rainbow Wahine also earned their first conference title since 2024 and totaled 798 points with 20 medal performances, highlighted by six event victories.
  • The Rainbow Wahine collected four of the Big West’s major awards, while a total of 15 women earned All-Big West honors.
  • Lovisa Gustavsson and Holly Nelson competed for the Rainbow Wahine at the NCAA Championships.
  • UH Head Coach Steve Allnutt was named Big West Women's Coach of the Year after he led the program to a conference title, guided a female swimmer to an NCAA automatic qualifying mark, and oversaw a Big West record-breaking swimming performance at the conference championship.
  • Brandon Blaisdell was named Big West Women's and Coach of the Year for a second straight season and earned his third consecutive conference coach of the year sweep.
  • Macie Wheeler claimed Big West Women’s Diver of the Year honors after she captured conference titles in the 1-meter with a Big West record mark of 311.85 and in the 3-meter with a score of 352.70, and added a fifth-place finish in the platform (216.50).
  • Keira Chandler claimed Big West Women's Freshman Diver of the Year honors after she claimed silver medals in the platform (244.05) and 3-meter (305.00), and finished fourth in the 1-meter (278.15) in her championship debut.
  • The Rainbow Wahine earned three Big West Athlete of the Week honors, including honors for Holly Nelson (Oct. 28 and Jan. 6) and Quincy Key (Dec. 30).
  • UH was named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams for the Fall 2025 semester.
  • Four Rainbow Wahine (Kailee Chow, Eva Kovaluk, Isabelle Meraz, and Holly Nelson) earned a spot on the NCAA Division I Academic All-District team.

BIG WEST CHAMPIONS

The Rainbow Wahine claimed the Big West Championship and its 11th overall league crown in a landslide with a 798 point performance that included 20 medal performances with six individual championships.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Rainbow Wahine Lovisa Gustavsson and Holly Nelson competed at the NCAA Championships as UH sent both a women's swimmer and diver to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2019.

2026 S&D Big West Awards

Big West Women's Swimming Coach of the Year

  • Steve Allnutt: In his second year has head coach, Allnutt led the program to a conference title, guided a female swimmer to an NCAA automatic qualifying mark, and oversaw a Big West record-breaking swimming performance at the conference championship.

 

Big West Women's Diving Coach of the Year

  • Brandon Blaisdell: After another dominant year on the boards, Blaisdell was named Big West Women's and Coach of the Year for a second straight season and earned his third consecutive conference coach of the year sweep.

Men's All-Big West Honorees: Brooke Bennett, Mia Blazhevska Eminova, Keira Chandler, Lovisa Gustavsson, Carlotta Ingenerf, Gabriela Kelly, Quincy Key, Alexia Kovaluk, Eva Kovaluk, Rebekka Luoto, Isabelle Meraz, Holly Nelson, Ruby Pickron, Zofia Tyminska, Macie Wheeler.

BIG WEST ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AWARDS

  • Holly Nelson vs Grand Canyon (Oct. 24-25): Led the Rainbow Wahine tallying eight podium finishes, including six wins and a team-high 34 points across the two dual meets.

 

  • Quincy Key vs. Utah (Dec. 22): Key helped lead the Rainbow Wahine to silver finishes in the 200 medley relay (20.09 split), 200 free relay (19.87 split).

 

  • Holly Nelson vs. BYU (Jan. 6): Nelson captured three individual golds while earning a silver swimming the anchor lead of the 400 free relay. Nelson recorded wins in the 50 fly (24.07), 100 free (49.72) and 50 free (22.84).

CSCAA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAM

The Rainbow Wahine were named College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Teams for the Fall 2025 semester with a cumulative grade point average of 3.00.

CSC ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

Rainbow Wahine Kailee Chow, Eva Kovaluk, Isabelle Meraz, and Holly Nelson were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. To qualify, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and compete in 75 percent of competitions or finish top-eight at a conference meet or participate in a national championship.
