Swim & Dive Hosts Green vs. White Intrasquad Meet, UH Alumni Meet

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's and women's swimming and diving teams will open their 2026-27 season hosting their annual Green vs. White intrasquad meet on Friday, Sept. 25 with diving starting at 4:15 p.m. HT and the swim meet kicking off at 5:00 p.m. HT. On Saturday, Sept. 26, Hawai'i will hold their second-straight UH Alumni Meet, set to begin at 10:00 a.m. HT. Both events will be held at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex.

The Rainbow Wahine and Rainbow Warriors will begin a new era this season as they enter the Mountain West Conference. Last year, the men's and women's teams closed their tenure in the Big West by sweeping the Big West Championships. The men's team held off Grand Canyon in the last race of the meet to claim its eighth conference crown, while the women cruised to their 11th conference championship, winning by over 100 points ahead of their nearest competitor.

Hawai'i's 2026-27. men's team is a squad of 28 with 18 returnees and 10 newcomers. The Rainbow Warriors will be led by diver Juan Esteban Tamayo Ramirez and swimmers Tom Thalau, Victor Dagenais, and Evan Pickles.
  • Tamayo Ramirez returns for his third season with the 'Bows. Last year, the diver from Medellín, Colombia entered the UH record books and is now in the Top 10 in the 1-Meter, 3-Meter, and Platform. He competed at the NCAA Championships in 2025 and looks to have continued success leading Hawai'i.
  • Thalau, a junior from Stuttgart, Germany, looks to make an impact as he specializes in the individual medley and breaststroke. Last year, his first at UH, Thalau set a new program record with a 1:33.25 anchor split in the 800 free relay and he notched his name in the UH record book, ranking in the Top 5 in the 200 breaststroke and the 200 and 400 individual medley races.
  • Dagenais, a fellow junior from Montreal, Quebec, has his fingerprints in the record books as well, recording Top 10 times in the 100 free, 200 free, and 200 butterfly.
  • Pickles, a senior, came on strong and posted Top UH times in two events. He is ranked eighth in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 15:32.31 and sixth in the 400 individual medley at 3:51.21.
The women return 17 for the 2026-27 season with five newcomers for a total squad of 22. Diver Lovissa Gustavsson and swimmers Zofia Tyminska, Quincy Key, and Brooke Bennett look to lead the Rainbow Wahine as they enter the Mountain West.
  • Gustavsson, a native of Gothenburg, Sweden, returns for her junior season after becoming the first UH women's diver since 2021 to qualify for the NCAA Championships (3-Meter). She competed in all three diving events at the NCAA Zone E Championships.
  • Tyminska, a senior from Warsaw, Poland, looks to finish her collegiate career with a bang. Tyminska currently holds three Top 3 performances all set last year. She is ranked third in the 100 breast (1:00.41), third in the 200 breast (2:11.56), and third in the 200 individual medley (1:58.09).
  • Key is a speedy senior from Albuquerque, N.M. who broke into UH's record book at No. 10 in the 50 freestyle, clocking in at 22.65. Against Utah, Key helped lead the Rainbow Wahine to silver finishes in the 200 medley relay (20.09 split) and 200 free relay (19.87 split), which earned her Big West Athlete of the Week honors.
  • Bennett, a sophomore from Christchurch, New Zealand, is a long-distance freestyler who broke into the UH Top 10 in both the 1000 freestyle (10:10.03) and 1650 freestyle (16:58.99).
