Men's Basketball Embarks On First Road Trip Of The Year

The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team hits the road for the first time this year for a pair of games, starting with a non-conference matchup versus Grand Canyon on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. MT/4 p.m. HT.  

The Rainbow Warriors and Antelopes will meet for the first-time ever on the basketball court. The two schools will eventually be conference rivals in 2026 when both become members of the Mountain West.

GAME STORY LINES
  • After playing its first six games of the season at home, UH will head to the road for a pair of games, starting with a contest at Grand Canyon.
  • This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The teams will become conference rivals in 2026 when both will be basketball members of the Mountain West.
  •  This will be just UH's seventh-ever contest in Arizona. UH is 3-3 all-time in the state with its most recent visit a 76-66 win at Northern Arizona on Dec. 7, 2013 at Flagstaff.
  • After falling to Big West squad UC Davis, GCU has won its last two, including a 78-71 win over Stanford on Nov. 26 in the Acrisure Invitational.
  • The 'Bows are coming off a 67-63 win over Hawaii Pacific fueled by Kody Williams' career-high 24 points on 7-of-8 shooting on threes.
  • Graduate transfer Tanner Christensen leads the team in scoring (14.3 ppg), rebounding (7.7 rpg) and field goal percentage (.674).
  • Following its game versus GCU, UH will play at Long Beach State in their Big West opener.
