ROME, Ga.—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis doubles team of
Azuma Visaya and
Quinn Snyder fell in the third place match at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Conference Masters Championship at the Rome Tennis Center on Sunday.
The UH duo was fighting to become the first doubles pair from Hawai'i to advance to the NCAA Championships as the top three pairs from the ITA Conference Masters tourney advanced to the NCAA Championships later this month.
Visaya and Snyder were locked in a first set battle that ended in a tie-breaker with UNC Charlotte's Vasco Prata and Matias Iturbe holding off the 'Bows. The 49ers took their momentum into the second set for the straight-set win, 7-6 (6), 6-3.
The match wrapped up the men's tennis Fall Schedule. The Rainbow Warriors will host the Mānoa Classic with Florida State and SMU from Jan 3-4, 2025.
