Women's Dive Team Opens Season at Bulldog Invite

FRESNO, Calif. — The University of Hawai'i women's dive team opened the 2024-25 season on Friday at the Fresno State Invite. The Rainbow Wahine were solid on the opening day, with all four placing in the Top 10.

The Rainbow Wahine got off to a solid start with a pair of top three finishes by sophomore Ruby Pickron and true freshman Macie Wheeler in the 3-meter dive. Pickron led the way for the 'Bows finishing runner-up with a mark of 260.55. Wheeler put together a strong debut performance placing third in the 3-meter dive with a mark of 259.50.

UH freshmen Lovisa Gustavsson finished in eighth place and Avery Coates came in right behind in ninth in their collegiate debuts. With all four finishing in the Top 10, UH had the most divers in the Top 10 amongst all teams represented in the event.

The trio of Gustavsson, Pickron and Wheeler capped off the afternoon with a second place finish in the team springboard event with a mark of 263.70.

The two-day Fresno State Invite will conclude on Saturday with the 1-meter dive event.
