TEMPE, Ariz.--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team fought hard but fell on Day Three of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Southwest Regionals at the Kiwanis Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz. on Saturday.

In Main Draw action, Hawai'i's Azuma Visaya held off sixth-seeded Maxi Homberg of Pepperdine in straight sets, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to punch his ticket into the Round of 16. Visaya will take on UC Santa Barbara's Gianluca Brunkow on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. HT.  Fifth-seeded Karl Kazuma Lee of USC held off Hawai'i's Quinn Snyder in three sets. After dropping the opening set in a tiebreaker, Snyder evened the match by winning the second set, but fell in the third, 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-1.

The Rainbow Warriors also competed in a pair of consolation singles matches. UC Irvine's Lawee Sherif edged out UH's Diego Dalisay, 6-3, 7-6 (3), while Arizona's Inaki Cabrera-Bello defeated UH's Karl Collins, 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles action, UH's Visaya and Snyder fell to UC Santa Barbara's Lucca Liu and Dioigo Morais, 8-5. The No. 15 seed duo of Brice Patoux and David Wekesa of Grand Canyon defeated UH's Sohta Urano and Dalisay, 8-1, while 11th-seed Zach Stephens and Halldin Carlsson of Pepperdine knocked off UH's Andy Hernandez and Collins, 8-2.
