HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continued action in the Weinman Foundation Invitational. On Friday, the Rainbow Wahine only competed in doubles while the other four teams played both singles and doubles at the UH Tennis Complex.

The 'Bows played four doubles matches in all. UH's duo of Anna Kern and newcomer Hannah Galindo recorded UH's lone win holding off NC State's Gina Dittmann and Kristina Paskauskas by a break, 6-4. But Hawai'i fell just short in two other matches. UH's Ana Vilcek and Nelly Knezkova were edged out by 9th-ranked Sophie Abrams and Anna Zyranova (NC State), 6-4, while Nikola Homolkova and Sheena Masuda fell by a break to BYU's Kara Wheatley and Tina Li, 6-4.

The Weinman Foundation Invitational continues on Saturday, Jan. 6th beginning at 9:00 a.m. HT at the UH Tennis Complex.
