SEATTLE – The Hawai'i women's track & field team continued its strong start to the 2024 indoor season by posting more program top 10 times and personal bests on opening day of the UW Invite Friday at the Dempsey Indoor.
Tara Wyllie and
Sammie Gordon each turned program top 10 marks to get the action underway. Wyllie moved up a spot to No. 5 on the school's 60m hurdles list, crossing the line in 8.69 seconds to finish fourth in the event. Gordon then cleared 1.70m on her third attempt to post the ninth-best indoor high jump mark and finish third.
Wyllie continued her stellar day by turning in another personal best in the triple jump. The sophomore moved into second all-time in school history with a mark of 12.42m, finishing second in the meet.
Hallee Mohr added to the UH top 10s by setting a PR in the weight throw for the second straight meet to start indoor season following a toss of 16.99m. The senior moved into fifth all-time in school history and finished sixth in the meet.
The Rainbow Wahine dominated in the 200m dash, taking the No. 1, 4 and 5 spots.
Alyssa Mae Antolin ran away with the victory in 24.19, 0.54 seconds ahead of the runner-up while
Isabella Kneeshaw came in third in 24.89.
Amy Warrington moved up to fifth in school history and finished fifth in the meet with a time of 25.10, running a PR for the second time this year.
Both UH distance runners ended the night by turning in strong efforts in the 3000m.
Tania Tan ran a season best 10:19.39 while freshman
Zola O'Donnell crossed in 10:30.91 in her first collegiate indoor 3k.
