NORMAN, Okla.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team will take on 13
th-seed Oklahoma in the NCAA Tennis Championships' First Round at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Okla. Hawai'i's first round matchup against the Sooners will be on Friday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. HT.

- This is Hawai'i's third appearance in the NCAA Tennis Team Championship. Head coach Jun Hernandez has led UH to the NCAA's all three times.
- In 2012, UH's final season in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), the 'Bows won their first conference tournament title to punch their first-ever ticket to the NCAA's. UH traveled to Northwestern in Evanston, Ill. for the NCAA First Round match vs. Notre Dame.
- Hawai'i won the 2018 BW Championship to advance to its second NCAA tournament. UH competed at Stanford against Michigan in the First Round.
- This season, for the first time in program history, Hawai'i won both the regular season and championship tournament Big West titles.
- On Thursday, UH's head coach Jun Hernandez was named the Big West's coach of the Year for the third time after leading the 'Bows to a 14-7 overall record and a league-best 8-1 mark. It is UH's best record since 2017 when UH went 16-7, and 8-0 in conference.
- The Rainbow Wahine won 11 of their last 12 matches with the one loss coming in a non-conference match at No. 26 USC
- Except for the two COVID-shortened years (2020 & '21), UH has recorded double-digit wins for eight-straight years.
- Hawai'i was in the ITA rankings twice this season coming in at No. 64 on Feb.21 and later No. 67 on April 18
- Vilcek, who was an all-conference honorable mention awardee in singles last year emerged this season as a force at the top of the lineup. She is 14-5 overall
- Homolkova earned her second-straight All-BW First Team award. Last year as a freshman, she earned the honor as a member of Long Beach State.
- Takamura comes into the tournament with a team-best 15-5 overall record and 81 8-1 mark in conference. She was named all-BW second team in singles
- Although senior transfer Rita Pinto got off to a slow start in singles beginning the season at 1-5 record early, but has since gone 9-3 for the rest of the season. She is 7-5 since finding a home playing at No. 5.
