The Rainbow Wahine earned the Big West's automatic bid after winning their second Big West Championship title this past Saturday. UH learned their destination and opponent watching the NCAA Tournament selection show which was aired on NCAA.com.
For the first time in program history, Hawai'i won both the conference regular season and tournament titles in the same season. UH entered the tourney as the top seed with an 8-1 BW record. UH's 14-7 overall and 8-1 BW records were the best since the 'Bows went 16-7 overall and 8-0 in the Big West in 2017. Hawai'i swept its first two opponents 4-0, UC Irvine and Long Beach State to open the Big West Championships. The Rainbow Wahine then knocked off second-seeded Cal Poly to claim the program's third conference tournament title (WAC-2012, BW-2018).
