Five Rainbow Wahine Earn Conference Academic Honors

IRVINE, Calif.— The Big West announced its all-academic honorees for its winter sports, with five University of Hawaii women's basketball players making the grade.

Olivia Davies (psychology), McKenna Haire (marketing), Meilani McBee (public health), Kallin Spiller (communication) and Lily Wahinekapu (interdisciplinary studies) were honored for 2022-23. It's the second time McBee has been named to the all-academic team, while it marks the third straight year for Davies. Graduate students Haire and Spiller and sophomore transfer Wahinekapu are all first-time honorees.

To be eligible for the all-academic team, student-athletes have to maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, complete one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically), and competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
