Trio Of Rainbow Warrior Basketball Players Named Academic All-Big West

IRVINE, Calif. -- The Big West announced its all-academic honorees for its winter sports with three University of Hawaii men's basketball players making the list. Bernardo da Silva, Kamaka Hepa and Beon Riley each earned all-academic recognition.

It is the second straight year that da Silva (marketing major) and Riley (business management) made the list. Hepa, who graduates this spring with a master's degree in finance, earned honors in his first season of eligibility.

To be eligible for the all-academic team, student-athletes have to maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, complete one full academic year at the member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received and competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
