IRVINE, Calif. – University of Hawai'i opposite Dimitrios Mouchlias and middle blocker Guilherme Voss were named Big West Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, after leading the Rainbow Warriors to a two-match series sweep of CSUN.
 
Mouchlias, a junior from Soufli, Greece, earned his third Big West weekly award this season and fifth of his career while Voss received his second defensive award this season and fifth of his career.
 
This season, UH has received six player of the week awards and four defensive player of the week awards.
 
Mouchlias averaged 3.50 kills per set, hitting .500 in a pair of straight-set wins over the Matadors. The junior also averaged 1.50 blocks and 1.00 digs per set in the series. In the opener, he had eight kills, hitting .467 with three digs and four blocks and followed with a match-high 13 kills, hitting .522 with three digs and a career-high tying five blocks.
 
Voss tallied 11 total blocks in the series for an average of 1.83 blocks per set. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil native also averaged 1.83 kills per set, hitting .526 with only one attack error in 19 attempts. He h ad five blocks in the opener and six in the rematch and helped the Rainbow Warrior total 23 blocks in the series.
 
UH returns to the continent for another two-match Big West series at UC Santa Barbara, Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 at The Thunderdome.
