Coleman Named Big West Player Of The Week

IRVINE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i's Noel Coleman has been named the Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It's the first weekly honor for a Rainbow Warrior this season and the second career conference honor for the senior guard.

Coleman, a native of Leopoldsburg, Belgium, averaged 17.0 as the Rainbow Warriors went a perfect 3-0 record over the week with wins over Northern Arizona, UT Rio Grande Valley and San Diego. Coleman particularly shined in the Acrisure Invitational, leading the team to a pair of the double-digit wins and the tournament title while earning MVP honors in the process. He poured in 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and added seven rebounds in a 76-57 win over UT Rio Grande Valley. Coleman then exploded for a season-high 26 points, while adding four rebounds and two assists in a 77-66 championship game win over San Diego.

The 6-2 guard currently leads the team in scoring at 16.4 points per contest, while posting a pair of games with at least 20 points. Coleman is shooting 50 percent from the floor and has drained a team-best 10 three-pointers on 39 percent shooting.

The Rainbow Warrior (5-0) off to its best start since the 2010-11 season, plays their third straight game on the mainland when they take on Utah in Salt Lake City on Nov. 30 at 4:00 p.m. HT. The game will be held at the Delta Center, home of the NBA's Utah Jazz.
