SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i coed sailing team wrapped up its fall season with a second-place finish in the Fall Pacific Coast Championships hosted by UC Santa Barbara, November 18-19.
A total of 17 schools competed over the weekend with Stanford (37 points) breezing past the competition. UH was the next nearest competitor with 118 points, while the Rainbows distanced themselves from host and third-place UCSB (137).
The weekend saw a total of 30 races in three different divisions. Skippers
Erik Anderson,
Bastien Rasse, and
Trey Summers totaled 33, 42 and 43 points respectively in the A, B and C divisions for a cumulative of 118 points. Crew members for the regatta were
Amanda Turner,
Anna Kalabukhova,
Emilie Jones, and
Everett McAvoy.
The coed team next looks to 2024 and the start of the spring season as they host the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invite at home, January 20-21 at Ke'ehi Lagoon.
