SAN DIEGO, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team concluded their play in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Complex. Hawai'i won three of their six extra matches.
Nikola Homolkova swept Arizona's Midori Castillo in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Hawai'i's

Sheena Masuda both won by a third set super tiebreaker. Vicek defeated San Diego State's Gloria Alogo Piqueras by a tie breaker in the first set and ended it with a supertiebreaker win, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 1-0 (5). UH's Masuda out-lasted Cal State Fullerton's Milena Gevorgyan by the idental score of Vilcek's,7-6 (4), 3-6, 1-0(8). UH's
Nelly Knezkova's match also went to three sets. She fell to Arizona's Martyna Ostrzygalo, 6-3, 1-6, 0-1 (7).
Hawai'i returns home and will have a week off before hosting the Rainbow Wahine Fall Invitational from Thursday, Nov. 2=Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023.
