Hawai‘i Diving Set to Compete at NCAA Zone E Championships

HONOLULU- The University of Hawai'i diving team will be competing at the NCAA zone championships at Northern Arizona's Douglas J. Wall Aquatic Center. The 'Bows will compete in the Zone E section in Flagstaff, Arizona with teams from the Pac-12, MPSF, and other conferences as well.  The competition will take place over three days, from Mar. 7 to Mar. 9.

From the Rainbow Wahine squad, junior Daphne Wils will be returning to the Zone E for her third consecutive season. Wils has earned a spot to the national championships in the springboard events every year, which sets a promising course for this year's qualifiers. Sophomore Elma Lund returns to the Zone E platform event for another shot to compete at the championships.

After successfully placing on the podium during the MPSF conference championships, freshman Nea Immonen debuts at the NCAA zone championships as a strong contender to qualify for the national championship.

Senior Max Burman headlines the Rainbow Warriors as he competes in his fourth Zone E championship, as a tough diver to beat in both the springboard and platform events. Senior Timothy Newton and sophomore Mason Williams are prepared to earn their ticket to NCAA nationals in the springboard events.

"I am feeling very positive going into this zone meet and looking forward to continuing the momentum we gained after a very successful Conference championship," said diving head coach Mikey Ross. "The team is such a great group of individuals and I am so proud of what we have accomplished in such a short time."

The following lists the events that will take place over the three days of competition. Live results and more information can be found on divemeets.com.
