Ilagan Earns Fifth Career Big West Player of the Week Award

IRVINE, Calif.—University of Hawai'i men's tennis player, 17th-ranked Andre Ilagan, earned his first Big West Player of the Week award this season. It is his fifth career BWC weekly honor.

Fourth-year junior Ilagan helped lead the Rainbow Warriors to the Golden State Invitational tournament title this past week, as UH notched wins over Pacific (4-2), host Sacramento State (4-2), and St. Mary's-CA (4-1). Hawai'i has now won seven-straight dual matches—the longest streak in over 20 years.

Ilagan and doubles partner Karl Collins earned a 6-4 decision at No. 1 over Sacramento State's previously-unbeaten Mark Keki and Mate Voros, with their other two contests, also at No. 1, going unfinished.

In singles, did not drop a set over his three matches at No. 1. Ilagan cruised past UOP's Aleska Mardjonovic (6-0, 6-1), Keki (6-2, 7-6(5)), and the Gaels' James Watt (6-3, 6-1).
