HONOLULU – The No. 3 University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will host a three-match non-conference series with Long Island University this week at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The teams will play Tuesday, Feb. 8, Wednesday, Feb. 9 and Friday, Feb. 11. All three matches begin at 7:00 p.m. The Rainbow Warriors (7-2), who dropped to No. 3 in this week's AVCA Coaches poll, are coming off three straight wins at the First Point Challenge in Austin, Texas. The Sharks enter the series 3-7 in their first season of intercollegiate competition.
Following Friday's match, the Rainbow Warriors will receive their NCAA Championship rings during a post-match ring ceremony.

FIRST SERVE
- UH will host a three-match series against Long Island, a first-year program located in Brookville, N.Y.
- LIU is the third first-year program that UH will face this season having already played Edward Waters (Jan. 14 & 16) and Fairleigh Dickinson (Feb. 4).
- The Sharks are coached by Shawn Patchell, who most recently was Concordia-Irvine's head coach from 2013-21, where he compiled a 118-98 record. Patchell was also head coach at Marymount (D-III) from 2012-13 and BYU from 2006-10.
- UH (7-2) is coming off three straight wins at the First Point Challenge in Austin, Texas where they defeated Fairleigh Dickinson (3-0), Queens (3-0) and 14th-ranked Stanford (3-1).
- LIU (3-7) lost both of its matches last week against New Jersey Institute of Technology.
- Hawai'i and LIU have played one common opponent, FDU. UH won in straight sets at a neutral site while LIU won in four sets in a road game.
- UH is 4-0 at home this season and have won 11 straight regular season home matches dating back to 2020. LIU is 3-5 in road games.
- This week's match-up is the first of consecutive three-match series for the Rainbow Warriors, who will next host No. 15 Lincoln Memorial, Feb. 18-20.

- Hawaii Pacific Health is the sponsor of Wednesday's match and will distribute towels at Gate A starting at 5:30 p.m. and award two (2) massage gift cards during intermission.

- The men's volleyball team will reveal their National Championship rings during a "Ring Ceremony" following the match.
