HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team swept Cal State Fullerton, 7-0 in their Big West home opener on Saturday afternoon. The Rainbow Wahine edged out the Titans for the doubles point, then won all six singles matches at the UH Tennis Complex.

In doubles, UH's No. 1 duo of Léa Romian and Satsuki Takamura dispatched Fullerton's Natalie Duffy and YuSeung Suh, 6-3 to start the day. The Titans evened things up with a 6-4 win on the No. 2 court with Camila Garcia and Eira Tobrand held off UH's Ana Vilcek and Tal Talya Zandbert, 6-4. UH's No. 3 team of Gitte Heynemans and Nidhi Surapaneni then held off Juliette Daries and Kaytlin Taylor, 7-5 to secure the doubles point. 

The Rainbow Wahine rolled from that point with the first five matches finished in straight-sets and the last match was decided in a 10-point super tiebreaker. UH's No. 1  Takamura made quick work in her match-up against CSUF's Duffy, 6-2, 6-0. Heynemans then held on to knock off Garcia, 6-2, 7-5. On the No. 6 court, Hawaii's Madison Kim clinch the match with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Taylor. With the match already in hand, the 'Bows continued their winning ways. Zandberrg dispatched Fullerton's Daries, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4; Romian edged out Suh in two hard-fought, sets that ended in a pair of tie-breakers, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (0); and UH's Vilcek bounced back after dropping the first set to even the match that was decided with a 10-point super tie-breake that went into "overtime"r,5-7, 6-3, 12-10.

Up next for the Rainbow Wahine is Long Beach State. The Beach will be coming to Honolulu on Saturday, March 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the UH Tennis Complex.
