HONOLULU – University of Hawai'i head football coach
Timmy Chang announced two more members to his inaugural staff with the addition of defensive line coach
Eti Ena and director of player personnel
Silas Clapham.
Chang's coaching staff is nearly complete with nine full-time coaches already on board –
Thomas Sheffield (associate head coach/special teams coordinator/tight ends),
Ian Shoemaker (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks),
Jacob Yoro (defensive coordinator/outside linebackers),
Abraham Elimimian (cornerbacks),
Chris Brown (inside linebackers),
Keiki Misipeka (running backs),
Roman Sapolu (offensive line),
Josh Brown (safeties), and
Eti Ena (defensive line).
The support staff includes
Kody Cooke (strength & conditioning),
Matt Chon (chief of staff),
Nate Ilaoa (director of recruiting),
Silas Clapham (director of player personnel),
Colin Shaffer (video coordinator),
Jimbo Davis (quality control),
Cade Socha (quality control),
Ryan Matviko (quality control),
Jordan Pū'u-Robinson (graduate assistant), and
P.J. Minaya (graduate assistant).
Eti Ena, Defensive Line Coach
Spent the last three years as the defensive coordinator at his alma mater Eastern Washington…joined the EWU staff in 2016 as defensive line coach…served as acting head coach for EWU's season-opener in the 2020-21 season…helped EWU to the FCS playoffs four times including trips to the championship game in 2018 and semifinal round in 2016…held the title of associate head coach since 2017…coached the defensive line at Cal Poly from 2013-15…spent four seasons as defensive line coach at Idaho from 2009-12…defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Eastern Oregon from 2006-08…served as a student assistant at EWU from 2003-05…graduated from EWU in 2005…played linebacker at Utah's Snow College and Walla Walla (Wash.) Community College before transferring to EWU.

Spent the past two seasons as recruiting analyst at the University of Nevada…joined the program in 2019 as a recruiting and operations intern...followed head coach Jay Norvell to Colorado State in January where he was named director of on-campus recruiting before being hired at UH…earned his master's of education in intercollegiate athletic leadership from the University of Washington…born and raised in Bellevue, Wash., and attended Bellevue High School…captain of the water polo team at Florida State University while obtaining his bachelor of science in marketing and sports management.
