Rainbow Wahine Finish Strong At Bryson Women’s Fleet Race

Redwood City, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sailing team competed at the Bryson Women's Fleet race, with two well-deserved third and fifth place finishes. Sixteen total races were held over the weekend, with eight in each division and two teams entered from UH: Rainbows 1 and Rainbows 2.

The Rainbows 1 team managed to finish third overall, with Mercy Tangredi and Kelsie Grant collecting a low of 39 points placing them in fourth place in A. In the B division, Morgan Carew and Chloe Long finished fourth in the B division with a total of 30 points. 

Rainbows 2 saw a similar amount of success over the weekend, with the 'Bows managing to get a fifth place finish after the conclusion of racing. Hayden Lahr and Jemma Baird managed to tie UC Santa Barbara for fifth place in A division, ultimately winning the tiebreaker. Vivian Bonsager made her college skippering debut alongside finishing fifth in B division with 45 points.

The Rainbow Wahine will travel to San Francisco on April 2nd for the St. Francis Intersectional where they will compete in their penultimate fleet race of the season.
