Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (1-3, 1-0 BWC) battled all match, but dropped their final game of their San Diego road trip to San Diego State (6-1), 5-2 on Friday afternoon at the Aztec Tennis Center.
 
The Aztecs won the doubles point for the early 1-0 lead. UH's Gitte Heynemans and Léa Romain fell to Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Tamara Arnoldon on court No. 1, 6-0. UH's No. 2, Ana Vilcek and Tal Talya Zandberg defeated Nnena Nadozie and Alicia Melosch 6-2 to knot the doubles score. Unfortunately, UH's No. 3 duo of  Satsuki Takamura and Nidhi Surapaneni lost to SDSU's Regina Pitts and Cécile Morin 6-3.
 
Hawai'i fought hard in singles taking five of six matches to three sets, but the 'Bows efforts fell short. With UH trailing 3-0, Hawai'i's No. 5 Heynemans notched the 'Bows' first point with a come-from behind, three-set win over Julia Jordan, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. However, the Aztecs then clinched the matchas as UH's No. 2 Romain fell in a hard fought match to Arnold, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Hawai'i's Madison Kim pushed two of her sets to tiebreakers, but fell to Melosch Pearson 6-1, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (3). In the last match of the day, UH's Zandberg came back from a set down to defeat Regina Pitts, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 to boost team morale at the end of the day. 

The Rainbow Wahine return home to the UH Tennis complex on February 26th to take on Big West opponent, Cal State Fullerton.
