Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team (0-2, 0-0 BWC) began their three-game road swing through SoCal, falling to San Diego, 7-0 on Wednesday at the Hogan Tennis Center. 

The Torerros captured the doubles point, wins at No. 1 and No. 2. USD's Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith defeating UH's Léa Romain and Gitte Heynemans, 6-1 at No. 1 court, while San Diego's No. 2 duo of Abigail Desiatnikov and Jordyn McBride knocked of UH's Ana Vilcek and Tal Talya Zandberg, 6-2 for the team's 1-0 lead.

In singles, San Diego tallied the sweep over the Rainbow Wahine. At No. 5, UH's Heynemans tried to battle back in the second set, but fell short by a break, as Claudia De Las Heras notched the straigt-set win, 6-0, 6-4. At No. 6, Victoria Kalaitzis defeated UH's Nidhi Surapaneni, 6-3, 6-1 and San Diego's 75th-ranked Desiatnikov clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win over UH's Romain. The Torerros' McBride kept things rolling on the No. 4 court, recording a 6-1, 6-2 win over Zandberg. UH forced third-set action in the last two matches of the day. UH's No. 5 Vilcek dropped the first set, bounced back to take Set 2 but fell in a 10-point super tie-breaker, 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 playing at No. 3 against Goldsmith. In the last match of the day, Satsuki Takamura overcame a slow start to fall by one break in the third to 59th-ranked Solymar Colling, 6-0, 2-6, 6-4.

Hawai'i will continue their road trip taking on new Big West member, UC San Diego on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. HT at the Northview Tennis Courts in San Diego, Calif.
