HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i softball team opened the Fall Preseason Classic Tournament sweeping their doubleheader with wins over Chaminade and Fullerton on Friday night at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The Rainbow Wahine broke a scoreless game open in the bottom of the third.
Haley Johnson drilled a one-out double to left field to start the rally. Later, a fielding error by the rightfielder drove in pinch runner K Tierney.
Maya Nakamura smacked a line drive to center but the Chaminade centerfielder made a nice snag but the sacrifice fly scored Goshi from third.
Ka'ena Keliinoi followed with a single to right to drive in Xiao Gin for an early 3-0 lead.
In the fourth, Mya-Liah Bethea launched a solo homer to centerfield to give the Rainbow Wahine a 4-0 lead.
The Silverswords loaded the bases with one out. Later with two outs, Kobe Brown ripped a double to left-center to drive in two.
Hawai'i's
Brianna Lopez earned the win working four and two/thirds innings allowing no hits and no runs with a walk and three strikeouts, facing just 14 batters.
Malia Williams tossed an inning and a third. She allowed two runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts. Xiao Gin closed the game firing the final inning, allowing no runs on no hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Hawai'i 5, Fullerton College 2

Fullerton College struck first, loading the bases and getting an RBI single up the middle to drive in the games first run.
Hawai'i answered back in the bottom half of the second. With one out, Mayen Gibbs laced a double to right-center.
Haley Johnson followed with a single to put runners at the corners. runners at second and third.
Larissa Goshi then rapped a single to left to drive in Gibbs to knot the score at 1-1.
In the third,
Dallas Millwood blasted a two-run homer to centerfield to give UH a 3-1 lead.
Fullerton scratched out a run in the fourth on a bases loaded RBI single to trail 3-2.
Hawai'i would tack on two more runs in the sixth to extend their lead to 5-2.
Ka'ena Keliinoi ripped a triple to center to drive in
Maya Nakamura who had reached on a fielder's choice. Millwood then lifted an RBI-ground rule double to drive in Keliinoi from third.
UH's Millie Fidge threw the first three innings, allowing one run on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Key-annah Campbell-Pū'a earned the win tossing two innings, allowing a run on two hits with a walk.
Chloe Borges fired the final two innings, giving up no runs. She gave up a hit, two walks and had two strikeouts.
The Fall Preseason Classic Tournament concludes on Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
