In consolation doubles play, both of Hawai'i's pairs notched wins. UH's
Nikola Homolkova and
Klara Novakova cruised past UC Irvine's Jenna Schlatter and Alyssia Fossorier, 8-2.
Madison Kim and
Anna Kern combined to knock off Long Beach State's Mathilde Tranberg and Hana Becircovic, 8-3.
In singles consolation matches
Satsuki Takamura and Kim were able to capture wins for Hawai'i. Kim knocked off UC Irvine's Larissa Teramura in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Takamura blanked UCI's Haily Huynh in the first set and doubled up on her in the second for a 6-0, 6-3 victory. UH's Homolkova won the first set but fell in the second to force a third set, super-tiebreaker against USC's Sloane Morra. Morra edged out Homolkova in the third, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (8).
