HONOLULU – Laticia Transom earned MPSF Female Athlete of the Week honors after turning in several top 10 times in program history at the USC Invitational over the weekend, the conference announced Wednesday.
Transom cracked the Rainbow Wahine top 10 in the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle events while also contributing to strong showings in multiple relay events. On day one of the meet, Transom clocked a time of 22.65 in the 50 Free to give her the seventh-fastest time in UH history while finishing second in the event.
The senior transfer continued her stellar first weekend in a Hawai'i uniform on day two, turning in the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 200 Free, finishing with a mark of 1:46.51 to place second. Transom then finished in a tie for first in the 100 Free with a time of 49.02, good for the No. 5 time in Rainbow Wahine history in the event.
The native of New Zealand also swan the second leg of the 200 Free Relay, helping the Rainbow Wahine finish third with a time of 1:30.70, just 0.31 seconds off the school record. Transom also swam the freestyle leg of both the 200 and 400 Medley Relay.
