HONOLULU--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team contined play on the second day of the 2022 Hawai'i Invitational. The Rainbow Warriors were able to notch a pair of wins in singles against tough competition on Friday at the UH Tennis Complex.

In doubles, BYU's Matheus Leite and Brigham Andrus edged out UH's duo of Simao Telo Alves and Kilian Maitre, 8-3, while Blaz Seric and Karl Collins fell lto California's Yuta Kikuchi and Carl Emil Overbeck who pulled away for an 8-2 win.

BYU's Brigham Andrus tried to force a third set but UH's Alves was able to hold him off, winning in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6(4). Hawai'i's Guillaume Tattevin also hung on for the two-set victory ending in a tie-breaker over BYU's Zach Fuchs, 6-3, 7-6(4). Hawai'i's Axel Labrunie battled, but fell short against Cal's Phillip Hjorth, 6-3, 6-4.

The Hawai'i Invitational concludes on Saturday. Matches are slated to start at 2:00 p.m. at the UH Tennis Comples. For the safety of all the student-athletes and staff, fans are not allowed in the UH Tennis Complex this weekend.
