Box Score NORTHRIDGE, CALIF. – The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team picked up a 76-67 win inside the Matadome at CSUN Saturday afternoon, splitting their conference road trip.
 
The Rainbow Wahine (8-8, 4-2) picked up their second road win of the season and took a one-game advantage in the all-time series by an 11-10 margin. The Matadors' (6-11, 2-5) losing streak extends to four games as they head south to UC San Diego and Irvine next week.
 
The first quarter performance inverted over Thursday's five-point start, as the 'Bows traded buckets and led 17-15 after one.
 
The Rainbow Wahine continued to battle with CSUN in the second. However, with 3:36 left in half, UH caught fire and finished the half on a 13-2 run, taking a 36-29 lead to end the frame.
 
The Matadors wouldn't go away quietly in the second half, keeping the game within a few possessions for most of the game. The difference-maker came as the Wahine made a season-high 29-of-36 free throw, including 12 down the stretch. The 'Bows were able to use the charity stripe to extend their lead to 14, putting the game on ice in the win.
 
Freshman forward Daejah Phillips posted 15 points, her fifth straight game in double figures, including a career-high five steals. Freshman center Nnenna Orji scored 13, recording a new career-high in points. Graduate forward Amy Atwell tallied 15 points, moving her past Julissa Tago and Tondi Redden for 20th all-time in scoring, with 1028 career points.
 
The Rainbow Wahine return to the island of O'ahu for two games next week. Beginning on Thursday, Feb. 3 against UC Davis with a 7:00 p.m. HT tip-off, followed by a match against UC Riverside at 6:00 p.m. HT on Saturday, Feb. 5.
