RICHMOND, VA – While competition has been limited this season for the University of Hawai'i swim and dive team, their efforts in the classroom are being recognized. Earlier today UH was selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team.
Both the men's and women's teams were represented well, as the Rainbows Warriors posted a GPA of 3.2 and the Rainbow Wahine set a mark of 3.28. In total, 728 teams from 450 colleges and universities earned the honor. Those with a GPA of 3.3 or higher will now become eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.
"Coach Guttmann was a great hire this year," said CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart. "It's another example of why, these 55 men and women are some of the best ambassadors that Hawaii and the MPSF could ask for."
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
