IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West announced the first two of its five scheduled telecasts on ESPN linear networks during 2021-22 men's basketball season with the Rainbow Warriors slated for the first televised game. Hawai'I's game (9-5, 4-0 Big West) at UC Riverside (10-5, 3-1 Big West) on Thursday, February 3, will air on ESPNU.
Tipoff for the Rainbow Warriors and Highlanders has been moved to 8 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. HT from the UCR Student Recreation Center. ESPN's Eric Rothman and Corey Williams will be filling the play-by-play and analyst roles, respectively.
All five regular-season Big West contests appearing on ESPN Networks are selected through a "wildcard" format in which pairings are determined roughly 10 days prior to each game. ESPN2 has the next matchup on Saturday, February 12, followed by a pair of ESPNU contests on Saturday, February 26 and Thursday, March 3.
ESPN Networks will also carry three men's basketball contests in the 2022 Hercules Tires Big West Basketball Championships presented by The Hawaiian Islands. Both semifinal contests on Friday, March 11 and the championship game on Saturday, March 12 from The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev., will air on ESPN2.
