HONOLULU – Fresh off a win at the HPU Sharks Shootout, the University of Hawai'i women's golf team will head to Idaho for the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational which runs Sunday, Sept. 19 through Tuesday, Sept. 21 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course.
The fourth-annual tournament is hosted by Gonzaga and will feature a 17-team field including Creighton, Florida International, Gonzaga, Hawai'i, Idaho, Long Beach State, Nevada, North Dakota State, Oral Roberts, Portland State, Sacramento State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Seattle, UC Irvine, Utah Valley, and Wyoming.
UH's contingent includes returnee
Hana Mirnik and four newcomers –
Momo Sugiyama,
Focus Jonglikit,
Ting-Yu Liu, and
Hyeonji Kang. Mirnik won last week's HPU Sharks Shootout with a 36-hole score of 1-under 143 and helped the Rainbow Wahine grab the team title as well. Sugiyama, Jonglikit, and Liu also finished in the top five of the Sharks Shootout while Kang will be making her collegiate debut.

Stephen Bidne said. "We have an extremely talented and competitive team with a lot of depth this year, so I'm anxious to see how we stack up against some of the best teams from across the country."
The Rainbow Wahine competed in the first two Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational tournaments finishing in a tie for 15
th in 2017 and 18
th in 2018. The par-71 course measures 6,051 yards. The teams will play 18 holes each day.
"The golf course, which is famous for the 14
th hole 'floating green,' will be a true test of golf," Bidne added. "The weather is projected to be quite cold with possible rain, but I'm confident that our preparation up until this point should pay dividends for us heading into the event. The team is focused and ready, and we're excited to keep our momentum going and have a successful trip!"
