NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Scattering four hits over nine innings, the University of Hawai'i baseball team fell victim to CSUN's hot hitting in a 9-1 loss on Friday.
Redshirt junior
Dustin Demeter continued to drive runs in with his team-leading 30th RBI in the sixth inning, by doubling in shortstop
Kole Kaler, but the Rainbow Warriors' six total baserunners never threatened more.
CSUN scored seven runs over the seventh and eighth innings to put the game out of reach, scoring three runs in the seventh and four in the eighth.
Hawai'i's starter
Aaron Davenport scampered out of trouble the first three innings, and kept the game close for the offense to get on track, but allowed all three runs in the seventh as the Matadors opened their lead.
Davenport ended the day with nine strikeouts over 6.1 innings pitched allowing five runs on 11 hits and two walks.
Freshman
Jake Hymel came in for 0.2 innings and gave up the other four runs on five hits. Redshirt junior
Calvin Turchin finished the game getting the final three outs after Hymel couldn't get out of the eighth inning.

Adam Fogel pushed his hitting streak to nine games and freshman
Stone Miyao's 10-game hitting streak came to an end after going 0-4.
Sophomore
Cade Halemanu, coming off a career-long 8.2 inning outing at Cal State Fullerton two weeks ago will get the ball in Saturday's 8 a.m. HT start to the doubleheader as the Bows look to get back in the win column.
