Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team concluded their final road trip of the season with a tough loss to Cal State Fullerton, 4-0, Thursday in a Big West Conference match at the Titan Tennis Courts.

The Rainbow Wahine (5-7, 3-4 BWC) played shorthanded once again in suffering their fourth consecutive defeat including all three of the road trip. 

In doubles competition, the 'Bows started off on the right foot with Nikola Dolakova and Satsuki Takamura defeating Eira Tobrand and Misaki Kobayashi on the No. 1 court, 6-1 to finish first. The Titans responded with a win on the No. 3 court, as Madison Kim and Lea Romain fell to YuSeung Suh and Natalie Duffy, 6-2. The doubles point was decided by deuce at the No. 2 court, where UH's Rebecca Ehn and Alexis Merrill came up short to Camilla Garcia and Jadie Acidera, 7-5.

In singles, the outcome of the match was decided on the No. 4 court after a closely contested match between Merrill and Duffy with CSUF coming out victorious 6-1, 5-7, 6-1, and reaching the four-point mark to capture the match. Prior to the clinching match, Ehn finished first after retiring in two sets to Juliette Daries on the No. 6 court, 6-4, 3-1. After a strong first set, Takamura was next to finish, falling to Tobrand, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2, on the No. 2 court.
 
Despite the lopsided score, the match was relatively close as UH took the first set in three singles matches while five of the six were either decided or extended to a third set.

The Rainbow Wahine will return to Manoa to finish their 2021 season taking on UC Riverside Sunday, April 25 at the UH Tennis Complex.
