RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team finished in 11
th place after Tuesday's final round of the Lamkin Invitational at The Farms Golf Club.
Playing with only four golfers, the Rainbow Wahine carded a final round 329 for a 979 total. USC ran away with the team title at 880, 24 strokes ahead of runner-ups UCLA and TCU. USC's Allisen Corpuz, a Punahou School graduate, birdied the final two holes to capture medalist honors at 2-under 214 after a final round 74.
Senior
Tyra Tonkham shot 81 and was UH's top finisher in a tie for 36
th at 239. Fellow senior
Zoey Akagi-Bustin posted the team's best round of the day with an 80 for a 241 total and tie for 41
st place. Newcomers
Hana Mirnik and
Monica Johnson finished 44
th and a tie for 56
th at 244 and 258, respectively.
Senior
Sahara Washington, who was supposed to make up her second round to start the day, was unable to compete on Tuesday and was forced to withdraw.
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in The Gold Rush, Feb. 22-23 in Seal Beach, Calif.
