HONOLULU, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team will play its first home match of the season, hosting Washington Sunday, Feb. 28 at 11:00 a.m., at the UH Tennis Complex.

The Rainbow Wahine (1-2) continue their schedule after returning from a tough California road trip, where they won one of three matches. UH opened with a 6-1 loss to 17th-ranked USC before bouncing back the next day with a 7-0 sweep over Big West rival UC Irvine. Hawai'i finished its road trip with a challenging 7-0 loss against San Diego.

Washington is 7-1 after opening the season with an eight-match homestand. The Huskies are coming off a loss to 15th-ranked Baylor on Sunday. The Huskies are led by their No. 1 player, 74th-ranked Vanessa Wong, who notched a singles win against Baylor. In doubles, Wong and Sarah-Maude Fortin are the Huskies' No. 1 duo.

For the Rainbow Wahine, several players have a singles win including junior Bojana Markovic, who secured the first singles win of the season against USC. Hawai'i's No. 1 doubles duo of senior Petra Melounova/sophomore transfer Alexis Merrill, along with No. 2 duo sophomore Satsuki Takamura/senior Nikola Dolakova, have notched UH's only two doubles wins of the season against UC Irvine.
