Noel Coleman has been named the Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week, following his two-game scoring spree in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic. It's the first career conference honor for the sophomore guard and the first weekly honor for a Rainbow Warrior this season.
Coleman, a native of Leopoldsburg, Belgium, averaged 26.5 points while shooting 62 percent (18-29) from the floor and 60 percent (9-of-15) from beyond the arc in tournament games versus Vanderbilt and South Florida. Coleman torched the Commodores for a career-high 31 points -- the highest scoring output by a Big West player so far this year — and followed that up with a 22-point performance against South Florida.
The 6-1 guard currently leads all Big West players in scoring at 18.0 points per contest, while posting four games with at least 20 points. Coleman, who drained six three-pointers against Vanderbilt, also leads the conference in three-pointers made per game (3.0) and is second in three-point field goal percentage (.500, 21-of-42).
