IRVINE, Calif.—University of Hawai'i women's volleyball player
Brooke Van Sickle bookended the conference season earning her second Big West Offensive Player of the Week honor. Earlier this season, she won her first career Offensive Player of the Week award after UH's opening weekend on the road in the BWC on Sept. 27.
This past week, Hawai'i split their matches to end the regular season. In the two games combined, Van Sickle led the charge, recording team-highs of 35 kills, 3.89 kill/set, a .311 hitting %, three service aces and 41.5 total points.
Against CSUN, Van Sickle tallied her 11
th double-double of the season, with 14 kills and 12 digs. She also dealt out a pair of service aces with three blocks and an assist to fill her stat line.
In the season finale vs. UC Santa Barbara, Van Sickle put down a match-high 21 kills while hitting at a .273 clip. She finished with eight digs, two blocks, and a service ace.
Van Sickle has led Hawai'i all season in several statistical categories—including kills (361); kill/set (3.80); service aces (36); and points (433.0). She is second on the team with 307 digs, and third behind UH's middle blocks in total blocks (59).
