Women's Volleyball Hosts Spring Series with Louisville

HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team will take on Louisville in two "Our Team, Hawai'i's Team" matches on Monday, March 9 and Tuesday, March 10 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. Both matches are set for 7 p.m. Admission will be free of charge.
 
The matches with the Cardinals headline UH's spring practice schedule, which also includes a trip to Kaua'i on Saturday, March 14 for a Keiki Clinic and open practice at Kaua'i High School.

MATCH NOTES
  • The Rainbow Wahine return eight letterwinners from the 2025 team including Big West All-Freshman team selection Cha'lei Reid and fellow All-Conference Honorable Mention picks Adrianna Arquette, Victoria Leyva and Miliana Sylvester.
  • Reid was just the fourth freshman to lead the team in kills since 1981 with 335. She averaged 3.35 kills per set and also led the Big West with 44 service aces.
  • Arquette finished fourth in the Big West with 8.63 assists per set and posted 10 double-doubles and two triple-doubles.
  • Leyva recorded a total of 435 digs and her season average of 4.14 digs per set ranked fourth in program history.
  • Sylvester averaged 2.43 kills and 0.91 blocks per set and finished second on the team and 10th in the conference with a .288 hitting percentage.
  • The Rainbow Wahine also welcomed two newcomers to the program in the spring in outside hitter/opposite Maëli Cormier, a transfer from Oregon State, and outside hitter Panna Ratkai, who transferred from Dayton.
  • Cormier earned a spot on the West Coast Conference's All-Freshman Team after averaging 2.63 kills per set for Oregon State in the 2025 season.
  • Ratkai was a two-time Horizon League Offensive Player of the Year at Purdue Fort Wayne before spending the 2025 season at Dayton.
  • Louisville went 26-7 overall and 16-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference last season in Dan Meske's first year as head coach
  • The Cardinals advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 before falling to eventual national champion Texas A&M in five sets.
  • Louisville outside hitter Chloe Chicoine and setter Nayelis Cabello were AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selections and first-team All-ACC picks last season. Opposite Kalyssa Blackshear was the ACC Freshman of the Year.
