KAPOLEI, O'ahu – University of Hawai'i freshman
Momo Sugiyama completed the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in fifth place with a 1-under 215 total following Wednesday's third and final round at the Kapolei Golf Club.
The Gold Coast, Australia native carded an even par 72 and her 1-under score was one of just five under par over the three-day event. Baylor's Gurleen Kaur took medalist honors at 8-under 208, one stroke better than teammate Britta Snyder, who led the tournament after Rounds 1 and 2.
Sugiyama, the reining Big West Conference Golfer of the Month, posted her third Top 5 finish in four tournaments this fall. Her 1-under finish marked the second time she finished under par in a 54-hole tournament.
Baylor captured the team title by 30 strokes with a 23-under 841 total. Santa Clara (871) finished runner-up followed by Idaho (878) and UH (882). The Rainbow Wahine posted the best score among the five Big West Conference teams competing in the tournament.

Hana Mirnik shot the low round of the day for the Rainbow Wahine with a 1-under 71 and finished in a tie for 14
th at 220. The highlight of her round was an eagle on the par-5 14
th.
