Momo Sugiyama carded a 1-under 71 and currently sits in a tie for fifth place after Round 2 of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational Tuesday at the Kapolei Golf Club.
The Australia native shot a front nine 33 and carded five birdies on her round. The reining Big West Conference Golfer of the Month is among a three-way tie for fifth place and one of only seven golfers under par after 36 holes.
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine are in fourth place at 592. Sixth-ranked Baylor continues to the lead the nine-team field at 14-under 562. Santa Clara is 19 strokes back at 581 followed by Idaho (587), and UH
UH still tops the five Big West Conference teams competing in the field – Cal State Fullerton (596), UC Irvine (600), CSUN (619), and CSU Bakersfield (639).
Baylor's Britta Snyder maintains her lead in the individual leaderboard at 7-under 137 and posted the low round of the day at 68. Teammate Gurleen Kaur and Cal State Fullerton's Elina Saksa are three strokes back at 140.
