SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team continued competition on day two of the ITA Southwest Regionals in San Diego, Calif. The Rainbow Wahine ended the day with mixed results, accumulating wins and defeats in the main and consolation draws.

On the second day of competition, Satsuki Takamura was the lone UH representative left in the singles' Main Draw advancing to the Round of 32 after a pair of wins on Thursday. Takamura played to two sets, falling to Pepperdine's Taisiya Pachkaleva, 6-0, 6-3.

The rest of the Rainbow Wahine played in consolation singles matches. Tal Talya Zandberg won against Grand Canyon's Valentina Del Marco, 6-2 6-3. Following Zandberg, Nidhi Surpaneni captured another win for the 'Bows by nearly blanking UC San Diego's Anjni Agrawal, 6-1, 6-1. Gitte Heynemans was defeated by CSUN's Ekatarina Repina, 6-1, 6-1.

UCSD's Sophie Pearson held off Hawai'i's Madison Kim, 6-4, 6-1 and Cal State Fullerton's Maria Nikitash outplayed Alexis Merrill, 6-0, 6-2. UH's Lea Romain fell in the first setby a break, but was doubled up on in the second set to San Diego State's Regina Pitts, 7-5, 6-3.

In the doubles consolation, Kim and Zandberg proved to be a recognizable force after blanking UC Irvine's Mia Totah and Sheria Pavani, 6-0, notching UH's only doubles win on Friday.

The Wahine will move on to day three of competition where they will continue to play in consolation matches.
