Kole Kaler earned his first Big West Field Player of the Week honor after being the offensive catalyst in Hawai'i's series win over Oregon.The infielder hit .462 (6-for-13) to help the 'Bows win three out of four games at home against the Ducks. It was UH's first series win over Oregon since 2010.
Kaler collected a team-high three doubles in the series, scoring two runs and driving in six. He had multiple hits and RBI in the first two games of the series as UH outscored Oregon 19-9. He went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the 6-4 series-opening victory. He batted 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in a 13-5 win.
Kaler had at least one hit in all four games and struck out just once. The Arizona-native has seven multi-hit, has five multi-RBI games this season and is currently on a six-game hitting streak.
On the season, Kaler is hitting .407 with a conference leading 24 hits as well as a Big West-best nine doubles.
