Men’s Basketball Takes On CSUN In Regular-Season Finale

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. –  The University of Hawaii men's basketball team closes out its Big West regular-season with a pivotal contest at CSUN on Saturday, March 5. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m. PST/5:00 p.m. HT.

Coaches: Head coach Eran Ganot is in his fifth season at UH (86-55). Mark Gottfried is in his second season at CSUN (27-38) and 21st season overall (428-279).

Game Story Lines
  • UH is currently in a tie for fourth-place in the Big West. The 'Bows could finish with anywhere between the second and fifth seed for next week's Big West Tournament in Anaheim.
  • UH won the first meeting between the teams on Feb. 1 in Honolulu, rallying from a 17-point deficit with 10 minutes left for a 80-75 win. 
  • UH has won in its last five straight trips to Northridge. 
  • UH is 3-6 on the road this year, 3-4 in Big West play. CSUN is 9-4 at home, 5-2 in league. 
  • CSUN leads the Big West in offense in league games (77.2), while UH ranks eighth (65.2).   
  • The 'Bows are coming off a 67-65 road win at UC Davis in which it overcame a 13-point deficit with less than five minutes left in the game.
  • With the win UH secured a non-losing season in the Big West. UH has never had a losing season since joining the league in 2012-13.

  • CSUN, winners of three straight, is tied for second in the Big West with a 9-6 mark.
  • CSUN won Wednesday at UC Irvine, 72-70, powered by Elijah Harkless' 30 points.
  • CSUN leads the Big West in scoring offense in overall (75.9 ppg) and Big West games (77.2 ppg).
  • The Matadors boast two of the top three scorers in Big West play in Lamine Diane (27.4 ppg) and Terrell Gomez (18.5 ppg).
  • Gomez leads the nation in free-throw percentage (.940) and is sixth in three-point field goals per game (3.42).
