Honolulu—The University of Hawai'i swimming and diving team was named as one of a record number of programs being honored with Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming and Diving Association of America from the fall 2019 semester.
 
Under first-year head coach Elliot Ptasnik, UH had both the men's and women's teams represented in the record-setting year. The men's team narrowly beat out the women's team in terms of GPA. The Rainbow Warriors accounted for a 3.47 GPA, while the Rainbow Wahine were set at 3.46.
 
The CSCAA selected 762 programs from 480 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team. Programs were selected based on their Fall 2019 grade point averages and represent 17,685 student-athletes. Over sixty percent of the selections (470 teams) belong to women's programs, while nearly three hundred men's teams also earned Scholar All-America honors.
 
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
 
UH keeps adding to another impressive campaign in 2019-20 as one of the strongest programs in terms of action in the pool, as well as the classroom. The 'Bows just captured MPSF titles for both the men's and women's squads, and several athletes from each team are gearing up for the NCAA Championships coming up in March.
