Logan Pouelsen set a career-high for strike outs as the right hander struck out eight batters.
The starter scattered three hits over 6.1 innings and did not walk a batter for the second-straight game.

The left fielder also scored the game's first run in the third inning after leading off the inning with a double down the right field line. Junior
Kole Kaler then bunted for a base hit to move Scott to third. Redshirt junior
Dustin Demeter plated his sixth RBI of the year on a sacrifice fly to left field to score Scott.
The Bison scored their first run of the game after senior Bennett Hostetler doubled to right to open the seventh inning. Junior
Jeremy Wu-Yelland then replaced Pouelsen after the senior recorded the first out of the inning but a wild-pitch with two outs scored Hostetler from third.
NDSU scored the go-ahead run in the eighth inning after senior Jake Malec walked and then stole second base. A base hit to right field by sophomore Peter Brookshaw scored Malec to put the Bison in front. NDSU tacked on an insurance run in the ninth inning via a double, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.
The Bows will take on the Bison in game two of the four-game series Saturday at 1:05 p.m. HT.
