Box Score 2 TEMPE, Ariz.- The No. 3 Rainbow Wahine closed out day two of the ASU Cross Conference Challenge with a victory over No. 10 Arizona State 9-7 and No. 25 Azusa Pacific 17-4.
Sophomores
Bernadette Doyle and
Alba Bonamusa Boix completed the day with 6 goals each. Redshirt junior
Lalelei Mata'afa recorded a new career high of 5 goals in a single game.

In a 3-0 lead over ASU,
Bernadette Doyle scored all of the goals to carry the team in the first frame.
The Sun Devils came out fighting in the second period while UH fought back. Doyle added another goal and Bonamusa Boix netted two goals to end the half at 6-3.
ASU battled back in the third, but the 'Bows never let up and maintained the lead 7-6 with Sophomore
Szonja Kuna scoring the only point.
In a close final frame, Bonamusa Boix added two more goals to lead the team to victory.

APU claimed first goal of the game, but that did not hinder the Wahine as UH fought back with five consecutive goals while holding down the Cougars to take the lead 5-1.
Continuing from the first frame, the 'Bows extended their run to 7-0. The cougars were limited to two goals as the Wahine added five to end the half 10-3.
To start the half Kuna found the net in the first 40 seconds. Defense continued to trouble the Cougars as they were held to one goal ending 13-4.
The Wahine held APU scoreless in the final frame while Mata'afa netted three of the four team goals.
The Rainbow Wahine will wrap up the ASU Cross Conference Challenge against Princeton at 6:15 AM HST and Ottawa-Arizona at 12:30 PM HST on Sunday, February 2 in Tempe, Ariz.
