The University of Hawai'i football team will face its third straight undefeated Mountain West foe with a match-up against San Jose State Saturday, Dec. 5. The game was originally scheduled to be played at CEFCU Stadium in San Jose, Calif., however due to county restrictions, the game was moved to Aloha Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. HT. The Rainbow Warriors (3-3) spoiled Nevada's unbeaten season with a 24-21 victory last Saturday in Honolulu. The Spartans (4-0) will be playing for the first time since November 14 after their last two games were canceled.

Game Storylines:
- The teams will play for the Dick Tomey Legacy Trophy, which was created in honor of the legendary head coach of both programs who passed away in May 2019. UH holds possession of the trophy after winning last season's contest 42-40 in Honolulu.
- Tomey coached UH for 10 seasons from 1977-86, compiling a 63-46-3 record, and spent one season as special teams coordinator in 2011. He is a member of the school's Sports Circle of Honor. Tomey coached SJSU for five seasons which included a 9-win campaign in 2006.
- UH has won the last four games in the series and five of seven in Mountain West play.
- UH leads the all-time series 22-19-1. The teams have played every year since 1996 with the exception of 2012.
- The series is tied 13-13 in games played in Honolulu, after the Warriors won a shootout over the Spartans 42-40 last season. In that game, neither team punted marking the first time that has happened in FBS history.
- The road team has won five of the last seven match-ups and eight of the last 12 in the series.
- The Spartans last two scheduled games (Nov. 21 at Fresno State and Nov. 28 at Boise State) were canceled due to COVID concerns within the FS and BSU programs. SJSU's last played Nov. 14 against UNLV.
- For the third straight week, UH will play an opponent with an undefeated conference record as the Spartans enter the contest with a 4-0 mark. SJSU is one of 13 unbeaten teams remaining in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
- The Spartans enter the match-up with a five-game win streak dating back to last season.
- UH head coach Todd Graham has a career mark of 98-64 in his 13th season while SJSU head coach Brent Brennan is 12-29 in his fourth season.
- SJSU linebacker Kyle Harmon ranks third nationally in tackles per game (13.0) while UH linebacker Darius Muasau is 10th (11.3).
- The Spartans are one of five schools nationally without a lost fumble. SJSU ranks 10th nationally with only three turnovers lost on the year while UH is the Mountain West leader with 10 turnovers forced, including a league-high seven interceptions.
